Carter turns 2!

I feel badly for the lateness in getting this post up. Last Saturday, March 28, 2009 was Carter's 2nd birthday. We celebrated with family at our home. We had cake & ice cream and Carter (actually Tannon) opened presents. It was a fun evening.

Age 2, birthday morning. First stop, the gym......

Carter got stuck on the first present and didn't want to open anything else! He just wanted to play with his new toy! Tannon took over from there and kept saying "Wow, Carter look at this, is this cool"??? They both had fun sharing Carter's birthday.


This year Carter's cake was a star. He's not really "in" to particular themes & toys, he's too young. But he can sing parts of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and he likes to pick out stars among other shapes. So, I thought he would like a big Star birthday cake. He liked it, but I think he was soooo focused on blowing out his candles (he'd been practicing) that not much else mattered. He blew them out so well, no spitting on the cake either!

It was a strawberry cake with fresh strawberry/blueberry filling & lemon frosting. It was actually really good. I had the cake mix & frosting from a sale and the fresh fruit on hand, so that's what I came up with. It was actually really yummy!

Carter didn't even eat all of his cake & ice cream (seriously, and he likes sweet things!). He just wanted to get down and play with the toys!
The kids played with toys the rest of the night while the adults visited & played too.

At age 2, Carter is:

• talking quite a bit, can say many many words. my favorite words are: alright, (aw-wight) sorry (sozzy), come on (a mon), Tannon (nana)
  
• can pick out many shapes- triangle, circle, star oval
• loves to write/color
• can sing a bit & carry the tune
• is in the 65th percentile for height & 50th for weight (bigger than Tannon was at this age)
• is allowed to have his "B" binky for nap & bedtime only
• loves to take baths
• loves playing w/Tannon on the wiggle cars
• loves reading books
• fights nap & bedtime
• gets many compliments on his crazy cute red hair
• doesn't look like Tannon!
• is still his Mama's baby....
• is somewhat of a picky eater, but LOVES oatmeal, cr of wheat, soup (any kind) & bananas
• can smell candy a mile away, he's my sweet tooth baby, i have to be on my toes with him around!
• is nicknamed "the boobie", he can be emotional & somewhat of a crybaby!

I love you Carter, you've been such a special addition to our family. Tannon loves having a little brother to "teach" things too and to play with. Hope you'll be good buddies for a long long time! I wish you both could stay Mommy's little boys!!!
